What are NALEDI's Themes?

NALEDI has created themes which will help you find information on our site.
The themes are broad topics which cut across the work which we do.

Definition of Themes

Union Organisation   Strategies to build union strength and organise atypical workers
Globalisation and South-South Cooperation   Union research networks looking at globalisation and international institutions (e.g. World Bank, WTO)
Women and Work   Focus on the experiences of women in trade unions and in the broader labour market
Public Sector Transformation   Analysis of restructuring in the public service, local government and state-owned enterprises
Poverty and Inequality   Research on eradicating poverty and reducing income inequality. (e.g. comprehensive social security)
Wages and Working Conditions   Bargaining information and reform of labour laws
Macroeconomic Policy   Research on industrial policy, fiscal and monetary policy. Publications of the Peoples Budget - a coalition between unions, churches and NGO's
Industrial and Workplace Restructuring   Institutional transformation pilot projects that NALEDI is involved in.
